In the talk, I will present Sketch Engine, a leading corpus management system used for over a decade by linguistic departments all over the world for studying language and for lexicographic purposes. I will present the core corpus search functions as well as Sketch Engine specific features such as word sketches, distributional thesaurus, extraction of terminology or bilingual functions. I will also focus on how Sketch Engine helps linguists to get to know a corpus by means of corpus similarity, homogeneity and heterogeneity.
