Gabriela Haja (Romanian Academy, “A. Philippide” Institute of Romanian Philology, Iasi): The Present Results of the eDTLR – Thesaurus Dictionary of Romanian Language in Digital Format – Project (2007 – 2010)

The paper argues in favor of an electronic form of the Thesaurus Dictionary of the Romanian Language (DLR), the dictionary edited by the Romanian Academy in two series since 1913. Preliminary steps like scanning, optical character recognition, and pre-processing operations have already been taken.

The paper provides a sample of the correction of the dictionary in digital form and the corresponding results of the operation. The paper also presents the activities undertaken for the creation of a corpus of texts that includes all the textual resources of DLR.

The numerous advantages of the digital thesaurus dictionary are put forth, as a basis for future work in Romanian lexicography and, more generally, in language processing.
