Distorted and False Autobiographical Memories: The Role of Recollective Experience

Abstract:

This talk outlines a theory of autobiographical memory and focuses on the nature of the experience of remembering. This is then examined in
three groups of patients. These are patients with brain damage to the frontal lobes, patients with barin damge to the temporal lobes, and patients suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. It is argue that recollective experienc plays a critical role in distorted and false memories in all these disorders.
