How to determine telicity

There are a variety of approaches to determining telicity of eventuality descriptions. The simplest approach treats telicity as purely compositional. Others determine telicity at various points in the syntactic structure; either at multiple points (Ramchand 2008, Travis 2010), or at a unique location (Borer 2005). I argue that the exceptional behavior of Hungarian - where, among others, achievements generally require a non-theta-marked telicizing element - provide support for a unique telicity location.
