Research Projects

Recently, processing linguistic data by programming, as well as making them appropriate / suitable for programming, i.e. creating morphological analyzers and building databases have come more and more into the foreground in both fields.

At the same time, this processing practically means describing and documenting highly endangered languages (e.g. Nganasan, Ob-Ugric languages). As to historical language corpora, they can be used for supporting historical-sociolinguistic studies as well. Some of the  projects mentioned above are carried out in the framework of international cooperation: OB-BABEL (project homepage). A further international project in relation to endangered languages: INNET (project homepage).
